Writing with words & images

I am Dee La Vardera, writer, historian and photographer from Wiltshire. I have published non-fiction books about Wiltshire, and the Second World War. My latest book is C. & T. Harris (Calne) Ltd, an illustrated history (Amberley Publishing). I write magazine features, short stories and dabble in poetry.

‘Dewfall-hawk’ is Thomas Hardy’s poetic word for the nightjar which appears in ‘Afterwards’,  a favourite poem of mine.

Whatever the medium – poetry, prose, music, painting, sculpture or photography, it is a joy to have the freedom to express oneself and to share one’s view of the world with others.
