Writing with words & images

Dee La Vardera with Terry Waite
Dee La Vardera with Terry Waite CBE

I am Dee La Vardera, a writer and photographer from Wiltshire. I write magazine features, short stories and non-fiction books on local history and WW2-related subjects. ‘Dewfall-hawk’ is Thomas Hardy’s poetic word for the nightjar which appears in ‘Afterwards’,  a favourite poem of mine.

Whatever the medium – poetry, prose, music, painting, sculpture or photography, it is a joy to have the freedom to express oneself and to share one’s view of the world with others.
