Writing with words & images

Happy to be out and about, meeting friends for coffee and a chinwag.

I am Dee La Vardera, writer and photographer from Wiltshire. I write magazine features, short stories and dabble in poetry. I have published non-fiction books about Wiltshire, and the Second World War. I finished writing An illustrated history of C. & T. Harris (Calne) Ltd: 250 years of success, failure and regeneration for Amberley Publishing. No publication date yet. Sorry, to all the Calne folk who helped. Won’t be on your 2021 Christmas shopping list.

‘Dewfall-hawk’ is Thomas Hardy’s poetic word for the nightjar which appears in ‘Afterwards’,  a favourite poem of mine.

Whatever the medium – poetry, prose, music, painting, sculpture or photography, it is a joy to have the freedom to express oneself and to share one’s view of the world with others.
