New display boards have been intstalled in Calne Heritage Centre, replacing ones which were first put up when the Centre opened in 2001 in the former Carnegie Library. The subjects of the boards are: the Wilthire Cure, Harristroracy (the story of the Harris family) the Woollen Industry, Calne’s First Word War Auxiliary Hospitals, Caln Township (Calne’s twin town in Pennsylvania), John Pym MP and Parliamentarian, and Calne Castle – Fact or Fiction?

I was pleased to join  Sue Boddington, Norman Beale and David Harris in researching our chosen subjects and working with  FPD Design from Okehampton who designed and made the boards. This was made possible by a legacy from Norman Haines and a grant from Calne Area Board.
