Silence.  A white winter wonderland.  Schools are closed. Chance to take out the sledge, make a snowman. No one driving their cars. No recycling collection today. No post or deliveries.

Just a few dog walkers. One little dog in a pink woolly jacket.  Footprints disappear as the snow continues to fall. Silence. A comfort blanket of snow. Cocooned inside the house. Home. Porridge for breakfast, homemade minestrone for lunch, sausages for supper and a wood-burning stove for roasting your toes.  Winter pleasures.
